Conspiracy Midi Control Surface
I'm rating this fairly low because one of my needs for this device was the back lit buttons and the ability to control those lights in my host software.
That being said as a midi controller the standard output functions as expected and reliably and the aesthetics, layout, and feel of the controller are really nice.
Despite a video from sweetwater and a couple other's showing the feedback lights working I have not been able to replicate this with any outgoing midi commands.
Samson provides no programming or reference guides on how to accomplish this so it's kind of a shot in the dark trying to figure it out.
I'm on windows 10 x64 - the device needs no drivers and works great as a controller, it's the feedback that I am having trouble with.
---
I'm not an audio guy, but work with visuals and lighting (in Touch Designer) so music software is not my forte but I did try to use this device with Ableton Live, Serato Scratch, and Traktor.
Live and Touch Designer were the only software that recognized the device, Serato and Traktor did not see a device at all.
Further more I could not get any of those 4 softwares to light up any of the buttons.
I used the midi diagnostics tool, MIDIOX and this also recognized the device. This is the most comprehensive diagnostics tool I know of for midi and even with that, trying to send different notes and control messages manually I could not get any of the lights to light up.
---
When I power on the device, it goes through it's light sequence, so I know it's working. Also when I press buttons they do in fact create a momentary light up effect so the device works but I can not seem to control this externally.
If anyone can correct me where I'm wrong or if there's any updates or information I'm missing that rectifies this problem I would happily rate it 5 stars.

Re: Samson 'Conspiracy' Midi control surface led feedback is by grapey » Tue Jul 26, 2016 5:34 pm Hey guys, so the new firmware turns the lights on the Conspiracy on after 5 minutes of inactivity, and they cycle through the colors - literally every light in the box.
