The Selected Disk Image File Isn T Valid

Winzip 17.0 will not open the archive - I get 'Cannot open file it does not appear to be a valid archive' I have tried burning the Visio file to DVD using Active ISO Burner - but the resulting disc does not run (this should not be necessary as with Office it was possoible to extract the files with winzip and run setup). I have been attempting to run Raring Ringtail (13.04) on my Windows 7 computer, just to see how it is. I'm not going to replace my whole OS.. (yet.) Anyway, my BIOS doesn't support boot from USB so I am attempting to burn to DVD. I have it downloaded and used the Windows Disc Image Burner to attempt to burn it to my DVD. When I try to burn it, it gives me this error:

The selected disc image file isn't valid.

Any thoughts?

Have you tried using CDBurnerXP to burn the ISO? Always worked for me when burning ISO in Windows. Brasero just works now. :)

Check that your disc download matches the hashsum from Canonical for the download as well. Your download may have been corrupted or dropped packets in-flight. You would not want to start from a bad image.

Hope this helps.

I have created a disk image of the system disk, C: with the disk image software in Win 10 backup. The system disk was 70GB with 40GB of files. When I tried to write the image to the SSD the Win 10 install software said the disk (120GB= 110GB) was too small. I reinstalled the windows disk booted and shrank the system disk to just under 60 GB and retried the process with the same result. System is Win 10 32 bit on an old Acer netbook.
I would like to be able to transfer the installed files to the SSD.
I have looked at the tutorials for creating a system image and also how to create hardware independent image for installing win 10
