Hi I was doing a bit of searching on PAgP & LACP and found this, thought it might come in handy for some. I never realised the commands did what is stated be 43543. Or is this a bug in 12.2(25)SEB4 advanced IP services K9? STP Instance does not exist on switch with ports in that Vlan. STP Instance does not exist on switch. I thought I had written up how to configure LACP between HP and Cisco switches before, but after checking I realized that I didn’t. What I had mentioned was a “gotcha” regarding how a ProCurve calculates the spanning tree cost of an LACP link (a.k.a. “the wrong way”).

I am in the process of doing a hardware refresh in one of my remote office locations and we are looking into the Cisco 3850 series for our aggregation/access and distribution layer. Historically, we've always deployed 2 switches for redundancy where possible, connecting them via a L2 etherchannel and relying on spanning-tree to deal with the link blocking.

The option of Stacking has come up in a few conversations, and there has been concerns that if a software bug hits the stack, it could result in losing the entire stack(s) where deployed. So with that said, the traditional method of connecting L2 switches is taking a front seat, but I was curious to see if anyone out there can make it easier to justify the use of stacking over a more traditional configuration (standalone) layout.

Keep in mind that in this location, bandwidth isn't going to be an issue, so being able to port-channel across multiple physical switches isn't reason enough to do this.

Has anyone had any issues with the control plane of stacking 2-4 3850s? Any issues with upgrading software in the stack or adding new members?

Pros/Cons?

So I just went out and bought a new laptop after mulling over the purchase for a while and got an Asus with core i5 5200U, 6GB RAM, HDD, etc. With the circle circling and has been like that for some time now. I restarted it again and went through the setup process again and it says, 'Just a Moment.' So I turn it on, start the setup, and after I go through it says sorry can't log you in and I try to make a local account with no success. Just a moment windows 10 fix. I turn it off and turn it back on and try to log in with my Microsoft Account and it tells me I have the wrong password when I do not.

Thanks!

Hi,
I was transferring a port channel from a 3750 to a 3850 stack. When I check the log on the 3850, I have those errors:
%FED_PM_ERRMSG-3-HW_ERROR: MEMBER: 3 fed: Port Manager error -port mode dtp: hardware update failed.
Everything is working ok but I just want to make sure I didn't miss something.
PO configurations:
interface Port-channel3
description Etherchannel connection
switchport trunk native vlan 99
switchport trunk allowed vlan 10,97,210,802,988,989
switchport mode trunk
switchport nonegotiate
spanning-tree portfast trunk
end
Etherchannel

Maybe it's when I patched them? Like when I patched the first port the stack detected 3 other members were not patch yet??
